EUROPEAN YOUTH DIALOGUE is jointly organized by World Assembly of Youth (consultative status 1 with the United Nations system, the highest status possible for a non-governmental organization) and Croatian National Youth Council (in January 2002. CNYC started the process of acquiring the consultative status to UN ECOSOC), and is powered by YES (an EDC, Inc. project organization that launches its "Decade Campaign of Action" in Youth Employment Summit in Alexandria, Egypt, in September 2002). EYD is recognized and supported by United Nations Secretariat, UN Youth Unit and ECOSOC, as well as the International Labour Office. EUROPEAN YOUTH DIALOGUE will be reaffirming the decisions contained in the UN Millennium Declaration: "to develop and implement strategies that give young people everywhere a real chance to find decent and productive work", and will be recalling UN Resolution 55/162 on Follow-up to the outcome of the Millennium Declaration and the Resolution A/C.3/56/L.12/Rev.1 which welcomes the initiative of the UN Secretary General in creating a Youth Employment Network. EYD will especially reconsider the highlights of the high-level panel of the UN Secretary General?s Youth Employment Network, particularilly its policy recommendations as contained in document A/56/422. EUROPEAN YOUTH DIALOGUE will analyze the magnitude of youth unemployment and underemployment throughout the World and its profound implications for the future of our societies. EYD is acknowledging that there is great potential for improving employment opportunities by making full employment an overarching goal for global economic and social strategies and for national policies, and through the integration of public policies for young women and men in overall employment policies. Fully recognizing that Youth are a key asset for social and economic development, EYD starts the process of establishing the World Youth Bank, based on a CNYC "Declaration of Youth as a Global Banking and Financial Resource". WAY encourages its members to develop standardized Youth Country Reports and by doing that to encourage National Governments to prepare as a matter of urgency national reviews and action plans on Youth Employment. EUROPEAN YOUTH DIALOGUE will bring its final Declaration "Global Youth Joint Vision 2002-2025" which invites the International Labour Office, in collaboration with the World Bank, the UN Secretariat and other interested organizations, within the context of the UN Youth Employment Network, to assist WAY members? National Governments with the elaboration of national action plans and in monitoring their implementation, as well as to undertake a global analysis and evaluation of these action plans. Our Vision is to make this World a Sustainable Global Livelihood and let it be FOREVER YOUNG ? our Mission is to empower youth employment on all levels ? our Goal is to have Global Youth finally capable of satisfying its own needs and fulfilling its own wishes. LET?S STICK TOGETHER to it!
