The Dutch cocktailparty (or 'Oranje Borrel' in Dutch) is a long standing tradition at the international BPW congress. Este es el acontecimiento relativo a la conservación más grande y de mayor diversidad del mundo. Su objetivo es mejorar la forma como se gestiona nuestro medio ambiente natural para el desarrollo humano, social y económico. <http://www.iucn.org/congress/2008/es_world_conservation.htm> El IV Congreso Mundial de la Naturaleza "Un mundo diverso y sostenible" (Barcelona, del 5 al 14 de octubre de 2008) permitirá resaltar los vínculos entre la diversidad natural, social, cultural y económica. Every four years, the World conservation Union(IUCN) <http://www.iucn.org/congress/2008/world_conservation.htm> organizes the World Conservation Congress, the biggest and most diverse conservation-related event in the world. Its objective is to improve the way we manage our environment for human, social and economic development.
BPW and IUCN work together frequently in the context of the CSD in New York. The upcoming IV World Conservation Congress "A Diverse and Sustainable World" (5-14 October, 2008, in Barcelona, Spain) will highlight the linkages between natural, social, cultural and economic diversity. IUCN will use the platform offered by the World Conservation Congress to organize the International Women Environmental Entrepreneurs Fair. The Fair aims to: facilitate and strengthen women's enterprises that produce environmentally friendly products or services; and showcase women's business activities that go beyond regional borders and contribute to environmental conservation and the alleviation of poverty. "Woman Entrepreneur Prize for 2008"
Macolin, September 3, 2007. September 3rd I was notified that I am to be honored as one of the 3 Woman Entrepreneur prizewinners of the year awarded by the Geneva Club of Women Entrepreneurs. www.femmes-entrepreneurs.ch It is with deep emotion that I learned of this nomination and I am delighted that three women watchmakers will be celebrated today. This is definitely a “Woman’s Time” and as such, should be proclaimed far and wide in joy and harmony. In this wonderful profession that symbolizes the know how of our country, women have participated in its both its growth and its permanence. Drop the its before both! The public at large ignores that at least 50% of those working in the clock and watch-making industry are women. What would this industry be without these hands and their sure, precise gestures, without the varied gifts that women bring each day to their work? It is only just that their contribution be rewarded and valued, that their talents be recognized and their top people succeed in the field. In my case, I am sincerely pleased to receive this prize and I know that we three are going to laugh and cry for joy and out of great emotion. And if it all went to our heads it would merely be for the time of a glass of champagne that I hope will flow freely! But to be totally pragmatic, once the bubbles have burst, we shall without a doubt return to our movements, efficient, hard workers that we are. Medium-sized enterprise in the adult education sector with very good performance
The enterprise, a long-distance school with the service portfolio education and advance education in the areas of wellness and care, is operated as a limited company. The managing partner is acting as the pedagogic head in personal union. The proprietor is partly supported by a part-time assistant. There are no other employment contracts. Any additional personnel are employed on a fee basis. The school has been successfully established in the market since 1979 and generates a continuously increasing turnover of now ca. Euro 300,000 per annum. Additional potential for both increase and further development does exist. The range of courses includes training to become a beautician and/or chiropodist. Both courses have been officially approved by Staatliche Zentralstelle für Fernunterricht [Federal Central Office for Distance Teaching], Cologne. Currently, about 210 to 230 participants are under contract. The sale includes the company website with ca. 5,000 to 6,000 visitors per month (web statistics: Google Analytics). The site is continuously optimized in accordance with search engine guidelines and by now shows a very good page rank of 5 (the page rank is measured on the scale from 0 to 10 and is Google’s method for quantifying the relevance of a website). There is an overall excellent ranking in all leading search engines. The site also possesses a high potential for being developed as well as for generating other users, such as integrating and marketing of a job exchange, cosmetics shop, cosmetics community; the website could also be translated into French, English and other languages. The partner envisages selling the company within the next 12 months.
